The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a full-time faculty structural interventional cardiologist to participate in the development of invasive and interventional services in the Division of Cardiology. This position is open rank and open track. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education. The successful candidate will provide excellent patient care and, as a member of New Mexico’s only academic medical center, actively participate in research and fellow education. Cath lab faculty also provide Invasive/Interventional services at the Albuquerque VA hospital, which provides tertiary care to veterans in New Mexico and western Texas. The two campuses provide ample opportunity for research, specialty coronary and non-coronary interventions, and fellow education.
Minimum Qualifications: 1) Board certified/Board eligible in Internal Medicine by date of hire; 2) Board certified/Board eligible in interventional cardiology 3) Must be eligible to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications: a) Demonstrated excellent patient care; b) Proven ability to collaborate and work in teams and lead teams; c) Experience/interest in the resident/fellowship education; d) Experience/interest in research; and e) A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
