Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesDignity Health Medical Group Nevada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Intensivist to join our dynamic Critical Care team at our Siena Campus. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
The Critical Care Intensivist will provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in our Medical/Surgical ICU. This includes the diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex medical conditions requiring intensive care. The physician will work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Clinical responsibilities include working within a critical care team model comprised of residents, pharmacists, nutritionists, PT/OT and palliative care.
- Patient population includes critical medical, surgical, cardiovascular, thoracic, and neuro critical care patients.
- Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients, including initial assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management.
- Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tubes, bronchoscopy and other critical care procedures as needed.
- Manage patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support
- Interpret diagnostic studies, including EKGs, chest x-rays, and laboratory results.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Prescribe medications and therapies appropriate for critically ill patients.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide education and training to medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in on-call coverage as required.
Job Requirements- Board certification in Critical Care Medicine is required.
- Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine is required.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school required.
- Candidates will be expected to be proficient with standard intensive care procedures (advanced airway management, ACLS coverage for the hospital, central lines, dialysis lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, bronchoscopy, etc.)
- Current and unrestricted medical license in Nevada required.
- Demonstrated expertise in the management of complex critical care cases.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.
- Experience with ECMO strongly preferred
