The Academic Health Center is the tertiary/quaternary referral center for the statewide IU Health System and a major teaching hospital of the IUSOM, the only allopathic medical school in Indiana. Eskenazi Hospital is the safety net hospital for Marion County, and also a major teaching hospital for IUSOM.
