Position Summary: Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer provides direct patient care to include congenital echo, two-dimensional echo, three-dimensional echo, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow imaging, EKGs, Holter monitoring, and Holter EKG scanning. Training other medical staff. Knowledge of digital systems and capable of preparing preliminary reports. Collaborates with other healthcare team members in the delivery of healthcare. Consistently demonstrates commitment to a patient- and family-focused model of care.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic sonographer for this position primarily based in the Torrance Children’s Hospital Los Angeles South Bay Outreach clinic, providing outpatient echos to pediatric patients with various congenital cardiac conditions, including complex to straightforward diseases. There is a predictable schedule Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. There is no “on call” nights or weekend requirement for this position. The sonographer will work closely with the cardiology team, including the physician, nurse, and medical assistant in the clinic. A great “team player” attitude is essential.
The clinic also provides fetal echos to pregnant patients. Fetal echo experience is a plus but not essential. However, the sonographer must be willing to be trained in fetal echo and become certified as a fetal sonographer.
When the cardiology clinic is closed (for example, due to physician vacation) or at the discretion of the manager, the sonographer will provide echo imaging services to inpatients and outpatients at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles main hospital in Los Angeles with mileage compensation. Training for fetal echocardiography will also occur at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles main hospital.

Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer experience required. Pediatric cardiac sonographer certification is required. Fetal Echo experience preferred but not required. Demonstrated organizational skills. Must be able to work independently.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: A.S Degree or equivalent in Cardiovascular Technology. Current AHA CPR/BLS certification. Current ARDMS Registry. Pediatric cardiac sonographer certification required
