Job Summary
Assures supply and equipment replenishment for caregivers is executed timely, efficiently and effectively. Assures the nightly receiving and put-away of CS nightly delivery of supplies from the hospital's med/surge distributor is performed timely and accurately. Supervises operations and activities performed by the staff, ie assign tasks, provide quality control oversight.
Essential Functions:
Trains, orients and evaluates employee performance. Assures employees learn and execute work in the most efficient manner. Works with Manager to develop work assignment sheets. Assures the assignment is a good fit for the employee's strengths and weaknesses. Performs formal evaluations timely. Helps staff set goals. (15%)
Supervises operations and activities performed by the staff, ie assign tasks, provide quality control oversight. Amends assignments to adjust for changes in staffing and the needs of customers, and communicate all relevant information to the next shift. (15%)
Oversees receiving of CS nightly replenishment order from hospital's med/surge distributor. Assures rigorous adherence to process. Communicates all discrepancies to CS Inventory Control Coordinator at the end of shift and provide same with all relevant properly notated documentation. Works with distributor to resolve logistical, quality control, pallet integrity, and delivery timing problems by providing timely accurate feedback. (20%)
Collaborates with other supervisors, coordinators and manager to review workflow for all department activities. Assists with restructuring as needed. Exchanges ideas and information about best practices and standard work for staff. (10%)
Sets clear expectations for staff by developing job specific customer service expectations and behaviors for each position supervised; clearly communicates expectations to each employee and establishes the expectations as job requirements and performance appraisal components; delegates responsibility/authority whenever possible. (10%)
Conducts all performance evaluations on time, working with each employee at least annually to set specific behavioral goals. (10%)
Identifies training and staff development needs of employees and ensures appropriate training provided. (10%)
Initiates formal/informal activities with employees to develop departmental cohesion and collegiality. (5%)
Actively identifies problems and opportunities for improvement; identifies appropriate solution and involves others in the implementation process. (5%)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
Typically, two years supervisory or team lead experience. Required
Licenses: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, or warehouse operations helpful but not required.
Knowledge of word processing and data entry systems.
Organization and communication skills.
Skill in organizing and managing one's time.
Ability to multi-task and make decisions 'in the moment'.
