Under limited supervision, the Perioperative Services Operations Manager participates in planning, implementation, management and evaluation of service/ department activities, in accordance with national standards and administrative policies. Responsible for preparing and ensuring accuracy of monthly financial reports for each assigned cost center. Reviews and analyzes variances with each team and tracks progress of any improvement plans. Develops and monitors operating and capital budgets to ensure accurate reporting of revenue and expenses. Establishes, implements, and administers department goals, and forecasts based on volume trends to meet budget, staffing and inventory needs. Interacts with vendors, departmental staff, nurses, physicians, department supervisors and other professional and non-professional staff. Identifies new opportunities to improve services and cost effectiveness. Attends Value Analysis committee meetings and represents the Operating room, Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Serves as an inventory gatekeeper, ensuring proper analysis, review and contract compliance of products and equipment. Works closely with the leadership team in developing business strategies and new business plans. Proactively reviews current processes and makes recommendations to improve efficiencies. Responsible for management and operations of Perioperative Services supply chain inventory and materials management information systems. Responsible for optimization of perioperative services distribution strategies and enhancing services and working capital with providers. Responsibilities include ensuring cost efficiency and effective delivery of Operating Room materials, alignment of perioperative supply vendor resources, appropriate cost reduction, evaluation of par levels, standardization, utilization of supplies and process improvement through qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Provides ongoing investigation and implementation of new and replacement products. Communicates with Perioperative Leadership team. Responsible for Perioperative Services supply chain team management including professional development, training, coaching and mentoring. Assures timely completion/ accountability of Perioperative Services reports, budgets, communication, and functions as assigned. The Scheduling and Billing supervisor and the Materials Management Supply Chain supervisor report directly to this individual. Responsible for the Surgical Scheduling Department with accountability for administrative and physical task duties.
