The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Waterman – 1000 Waterman Way Tavares, FL 32778
The role you’ll contribute:
Provides patients with Cardiopulmonary support treatment, care, and evaluations during their inpatient stay.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Delivers prescribed medication via inhalation in accordance with the physician’s order
- Oxygen therapy in accordance with departmental oxygen protocol
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate
- Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions
- Adheres to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensures patient documentation is accurate, complete and complies with department protocols and procedures
- Cleans and stocks equipment
- Participates in the Code Blue and Rapid Response Team
- Administers all non-invasive modes of therapy for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions
- Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Paramedic license required from the respective state board and/or respective state equivalent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Associates of Science in health-related field
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification
