Our Cath Lab has the highest quality equipment and digital technology, offering both inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and interventional procedures.  We use a holistic approach to our heart care as an Accredited Chest Pain Center and our best practices reduce the time we take treating patients during the critical early stages of a heart attack.  Less than one in five Colorado hospitals is able to offer this level of expertise when treating patients with symptoms of a heart attack.

We pride ourselves in being ahead of the curve, as we were the first hospital in Colorado and one of the first in the nation to offer a minimally-invasive procedure to treat peripheral artery disease (PAD) in the upper leg as well as being one of the first facilities in the United States to have the new Azurion imaging system installed in our Cath Lab.  We are proud to be an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Primary Stroke Center, and a Level III Trauma Center.

Your day.

As a CV Sonographer, you need to know how to:

• Perform a variety of Ultrasound procedures that utilize high frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease. Prepare exam room. Obtain informed consent, and request an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam. Review patient history and determine proper selection of protocols. Explain method of examination and position patient. Assess the patientâ™s status and needs, complete appropriate diagnostic techniques/tests to ascertain patientâ™s on-going condition, and perform the necessary interventions.


• Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered. Ensure quality images. Coordinate the preparation of images/exams and needed documentation for physician partners.


• Document and communicate patient related information thoroughly and accurately. Inform patient of physicianâ™s instructions or ancillary caregiverâ™s observations or concerns and take same into consideration in providing appropriate care. Meet the needs of the patient, family and multi-disciplinary team through effective communication, coordination and documentation ensuring safety, care, courtesy and efficiency. Ensure safe and effective hand off between shifts by communicating clearly with oncoming shift.


• Monitor equipment reliability and safety. Report issues and/or repairs or service due. Order and stock supplies, clean rooms, and equipment to maintain work environment. Transport patients as needed.


• Actively participate in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow.

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (S) or ARDMS registry


• Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or the ability to obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire


• Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association

Preferred:

• Associateâ™s Degree


• At least one (1) year of ultrasound experience
