Cardiac catheterization technicians provide technical assistance to the Cardiologist throughout the entire procedure being performed in both the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) and control both. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assure all equipment is operational prior to patient procedures; contact Cath Lab Supervisor, Biomedical Repair, and the attending physician when equipment is inoperative or malfunctioning. Secure patient's confidence and cooperation during procedures. Explain the procedure, position for desired results, cushion, and shield patients for a variety of difficult procedures. Gather patient information from the electronic medical record. Operate cardiac physiologic monitoring equipment. Set up and calibrate pressure transducers. Properly identify, label,
