As directed, coordinates the activities of the Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS) service program in collaboration with Department Director, Information Systems department, and chief of department to meet the objectives and standards of the institution. Responsible for strategic-growth planning, oversight of implementation, customer satisfaction, problem-solving and penetrating systems use to clinical personnel. Instructs personnel in job-specific applications and conducts daily quality checks on the integrity of patient-image files. Implements all needed strategic requirements for workflow, data collection and charting practices within the Invasive Cardiovascular department which includes administering all database systems and components and understanding and implementing proper data collection techniques throughout all systems administered. Administers Clinical Systems within the Invasive Cardiovascular department as they relate to data collection and charting, understanding relational databases and using various reporting tools to provide statistical Reports as required. Provides point of contact between facility groups and various Vendors that provide for and support the data collection tools within the Invasive Cardiovascular department. Supports physicians using the systems as needed for current and future projects and applications. Provide leadership and assistance for all EMR applications as it relates to clinical staff and physicians within the Invasive Cardiovascular department. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
1. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Five or more years of progressively more responsible related experience of systems or medical imaging management in a multiple vendor environment.
3. Program/project management experience within a healthcare environment desirable.
