The Medical Instrument Technician (Echocardiography) position is within the Diagnostics Service of the Beckley, WV VA Medical Center. This position is a fee basis position with intermittent hours. This is not a permanent position. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides numerous diagnostic studies using a variety of ultrasound modalities in conjunction with clinical protocols and procedures to evaluate cardiovascular status utilizing, but not limited to, echocardiography, carotid doppler studies, stress electrocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography. Preparation of ultrasound data for physicians Transcribing echo interpretation into the Computerized Patient Record System Compute and calculate the doppler velocities Conduct diagnostic echocardiography in complex and unusual cases Educate patients regarding procedure Provides coverage for stress testing as needed Other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00AM - 4:30PM Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
