The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is recruiting for a Medical Instrument Technician (Cardiac Catheterization) to join our team. The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician has the intimate knowledge of vascular and coronary anatomy and physiology related to cardiovascular function. Recruiting for experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab Tech, particularly with experience in electrophysiology procedures including complex ablations. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Scrub, circulate, and monitor advanced procedures (including electrophyiological) to include rotoblation, intravascular ultrasound, RADI or wave-wire, angiojet, filter wires, myocardial biopsies, EPS, permanent pacemaker insertions, AICD insertions, and biventricular pacemaker insertion. Set-up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, medications, and supplies used in the Cardiac Cath. Recognize and distinguish normal from abnormal, artifact from abnormality in waveforms from great vessels and all chambers of the heart, and forewarn the physician of an impending life-threatening situation. Prepare and analyze quality control of test results for quality control and performance improvement for the Cardiac Cath Lab. Stock rooms and monitor inventory PAR levels and notify to re-order. Check expiration dates of lab stock weekly. Assist with patient transport to and from Cath Lab. Enter data in daily log and enter event captures and prosthetic charges. Set up for procedures including ACIST power injector, Philips and MAC-Lab systems. Work Schedule: Days, with on call required. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required.
